Koumei & the Five Fates

Koumei & the Five Fates has come and along with it, new stuff.  We get a new Warframe, a semi short story, a new game mode, and some new weapons. Let's get started!

Koumei is the 58th Warframe to join the fray.  If you are looking at obtaining her, you will need to complete the story Saya gives you over on Cetus.  Just in case you forgot where she is located, she's over by Konzu.  Overall the story is quick and to the point.  You'll gain access to the newest game mode and node once it's done.

Like previous Warframes, there is a "currency" that you will have to farm, called Fate Pearls.  If you run Steel Path, you can easily get enough of these to purchase all of the parts for Koumei in about 16 runs or less.  Hopefully some of the parts drop during these runs, saving you the time and energy.  In order to access Saya's Visions, you can either enter via Cetus (next to the load-in area) or you can access it via your Orbiter.

To build Koumei, you will need:

  • 70,000 credits
  •  330 Fate Pearls
  • 100 Rubedo
  • 1 Neurodes
  • 50 Iradite
  • 300 Polymer Bundles
  • 30 Grokdrul
  • 10 Esher Devar
  • 150 Circuits
  • 1 Morphics
  • 10 Tear Azurite

All of Koumei parts can be purchased at the shrine.

 

Saya's Vision is the latest mission type to unlock in the system.  If you are familiar with Defense, this is basically that.  The twist is that there are 2 zones that need defending.  Nothing gets destroyed, but you need to keep the enemies out of the zones in order for the offering baskets to fill.  Once filled, you take it to the shrine.  This needs done 5 times before the next phase starts.  The next phase is where you need to kill x amount of enemies in order to "summon" or "draw out" the Infested Oni.  If you're doing Steel Path, this is about the time a Shadow spawns in (sheer time spent).  Dispatch the Infested Oni and then take the 2 offering baskets to the shrine, bringing the Infested Oni back out for a final fight.

A tip to make this go faster: Get the 5 baskets in as quickly as possible, even if 1 shrine gets well defended you can make this go quick.  Once the 5 baskets are in, get both defense zones safe enough to generate another basket BUT DON'T TAKE THEM TO THE SHRINE YET.  Kill the giant infested thing, THEN take the 2 baskets to the shrine, summoning it again.  This tends to save at least a minute in time spent overall in the mission.

 

Koumei has her signature weapons, Higasa (a primary) and Amanata (a melee).  Both of these can be traded with Fate Pearls at the same place as Koumei's parts can be found.  Higasa can be purchased for 270 Fate Pearls in total, while Amanata costs 47.  Be sure to have even more Fate Pearls on hand, because it costs those to craft these weapons.
